Dayton, known as the “Gem City”, is located in southwestern Ohio and serves as the county seat for Montgomery County. With a population over 140,000, it is the sixth-largest city in the state; it’s metropolitan area, with a population close to 800,000, is the fourth largest in Ohio. Ohio’s borders are within 500 miles of roughly 60% of the country’s population and manufacturing infrastructure, making the Dayton area an important center for manufacturers, suppliers, and shippers.

Dayton is associated with aviation; it is home to the Wright Brothers and to the National Museum of the United States Air Force. Dayton is also known for its many patents, inventions, and inventors, most notably the Wright Brothers’ invention of powered flight.

The Dayton region offers a rich variety of cultural activities and venues and has been ranked within the top 10% of cities in the nation for arts & culture. The Dayton Dragons are a Class A minor league baseball team based in the city since 2000. Dayton has many opportunities for outdoor entertainment and boasts the nation’s largest network of paved trails for biking and hiking.

Air transportation is available via Dayton International Airport (https://flydayton.com/ ). Within an hour’s drive there are also two other airports: Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport and John Glenn Columbus International Airport.
